Born August 25, 1965, in Birmingham, Alabama was Cornelius Bennett was a former linebacker from the University Alabama. This prolific LB remarkably is one of only two Bama players to have ever been names as an All-American three times (LB Woodrow Lowe being the other.)

He is remembered in the College Football Hall of Fame, where he entered as part of the induction class of 2005. Bennett went on to play professionally for the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons and the Indianapolis Colts at LB. He also was selected to 5 Pro Bowls and was the AFC Defensive Player of the Year two times in 1988 and 1991.

Bennett played in all four of Buffalo's Super Bowl appearances in the 1990's and then he played in a fifth SB with the Falcons.

Born December 5, 1957 - White Plains, New York - The University of Syracuse legendary wide receiver Art Monk was born. Monk played at Syracuse from 1976 through 1979 and won the Lambert Trophy for being the top college player in the East according to his bio on footballfoundation.org. His great athleticism earned him First Team All-America honors for the 1979 season. Art Monk entered into the prestigious College Football Hall of Fame in 2012. After he left Syracuse Art was a first round pick by the Washington Redskins in the 1980 NFL Draft. He played 16 seasons in the NFL in Washington as well as with the New York Jets and as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Pro Football Hall of Fame states that his career catches were counted at 940 and that he played 183 straight games where he caught at least one pass. Monk was an All-Pro twice and was voted into three Pro Bowls. The Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrined Art Monk in 2008.

Born May 22, 1940, in Lexington, Nebraska, was Mick Tingelhoff is an NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Center who played for the Minnesota Vikings for 17 seasons.

He was selected in the Hall of Fame in the 2015 class. Mick played his college football at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and did not become the starter there until his senior season.

The Hall of Famer also went undrafted and signed with the Vikings as a free agent in 1962 and became the starter as a rookie! His hard work earned him the right to play in six consecutive Pro Bowls in the late 1960s. After the 1969 season, Mr. Tingelhoff was voted as the NFL's Top Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Born on June 11, 1913, in Brooklyn, New York, was Vince Lombardi, the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinee, NFL coach of the Green Bay Packers, and former NFL executive.

Yes, even the trophy awarded to the Super Bowl Champion each season bears his name due to his importance to the NFL. Before becoming the Packers' head man, he had only five years of NFL experience as an assistant coach with the New York Giants. At his first team meeting, Lombardi challenged his new team by saying, "I have never been on a losing team, gentlemen, and I do not intend to start now!" The Packers responded as they improved from 1-10-1 in 1958 to 7-5 in 1959 in Lombardi's first season on the job. In 1960, Lombardi's Packers won the NFL championship five times in seven years and the first two Super Bowls in just ten seasons! Coach Vince had an overall career record of 105-35-6 as a head coach. The Pro Football Hall of Fame website claims that not only did he turn the Green Bay Packers around and take the league crown in 7 of nine seasons, but he also, in his final year as a coach, took the dismal Washington team and gave them their first winning season in 14! Vince Lombardi was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971, a year after he died of cancer at age 57.

It is fitting that at the end of every Super Bowl, we remember the man that helped define the game.

Bart Starr, born Bryan Bartlett Starr on January 9, 1934, was an American professional football quarterback who spent his entire 16-year career with the Green Bay Packers. A two-time NFL Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl champion, Starr is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Early Life and College Career:

Starr grew up in Montgomery, Alabama, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He attended the University of Alabama, where he was an All-American quarterback and led the Crimson Tide to a victory in the 1953 Orange Bowl.

Green Bay Packers:

Starr was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 17th round of the 1956 NFL Draft. He spent his first few seasons as a backup but took over as the starting quarterback in 1959. Under the guidance of coach Vince Lombardi, Starr and the Packers became one of the most dominant teams in NFL history.

Lombardi instilled a culture of discipline and hard work in the Packers, and Starr thrived in this environment. He became known for his leadership, intelligence, and clutch performances. The Packers won five NFL championships between 1961 and 1967, including the first two Super Bowls.

Starr was named Super Bowl MVP for both Super Bowls I and II. He is one of only two quarterbacks to win the Super Bowl MVP award in multiple games (Tom Brady has five).

Post-Playing Career:

After retiring from playing in 1971, Starr served as the head coach of the Packers for nine seasons. He compiled a 52-76-3 record but led the Packers to the playoffs three times. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977.

Bart Starr is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He was a two-time NFL Most Valuable Player, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, and a five-time NFL champion. He is also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. Starr's leadership, intelligence, and clutch performances made him a legend in Green Bay and throughout the NFL.

Born May 8, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was Bill Cowher the North Carolina State defender who played a bit in the Pros. Cowher was not known for his time as a player but what he did from the sidelines after he hung up his helmet.

At the age of 34 years old he took over the reigns of the Pittsburgh Steelers from legend Chuck Noll and kept the Steel City franchise in contention for much of his 15 years as the head coach. From 1980 to 1984 he was a linebacker for both the Browns and the Eagles according to Steelers.com.  He then served as an assistant coach at various positions for the Brown and the Chiefs until the Rooney Family hired him as the face of their franchise in early 1992.

His brilliant coaching career with the Black and Gold is highlighted by what the Pro Football Hall of Fame describes as occurred during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Cowher guided an injury-plagued team to a franchise record 15 wins that season. His 2005 team became the first team ever to win nine road games and the first sixth-seeded team in NFL history to win a Super Bowl. The amazing playoff run was capped by 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL. The Pro Football Hall of Fame gave Coach Bill Cowher the honor of enshrinement into their Canton, Ohio Museum in 2020. 

Born June 8, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was a Pro Football Hall of Fame Defensive Back for the Green Bay Packers. Herb ended his career with the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to being picked by the Packers in the first round of the 1961 NFL Draft as an offensive halfback, Adderly had played collegiately for Michigan State. In his rookie season facing the fact that the Pack already had two great backs in Jim Taylor and Paul Hornung, the Green Bay coaches flipped him over to the defensive side of the ball as an emergency fill in for an injured corner Hank Gremminger and Adderly thrived as a cornerback. Adderly accounted for 48 interceptions in his career and did some damage returning them as he averaged 21.8 yards per pick for a total of 1046 yards. Herb played in five NFL title games, and four Super Bowls! One of his biggest moments as a pro was a 60 yard pick six in Super Bowl II. The ball hawking back also made it into five Pro Bowl games as he was also an All-Pro in five different seasons. The Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrined Herb Adderly in 1980 to their Canton, Ohio museum.

Born June 20, 1935, in Alliance, Ohio, was Pro Football Hall of Fame Quarterback Len Dawson. He played college football at Purdue.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame states that Dawson is among the elite in Pro quarterbacks with an 82.56 QB rating over a span of 19 seasons in the NFL.

He was the top pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1957's NFL Draft. He served as a backup there and, later, in Cleveland until in 1962, he found his way onto the AFL's Dallas Texans roster. After the move to Kansas City and rebranding the team as the Chiefs, Dawson cemented himself as the starter.

He was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 1962 and was selected to play six AFL All-Star games. Dawson also guided the Chiefs to three AFL championships and the franchise's first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl IV, of which he was named MVP. The Chiefs revered Number 16 may be best remembered for his gritty performance as he led Kansas City to a 23-7 upset over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. In that game, Dawson connected on 12 of 17 passes for 142 yards.

Born May 27, 1903, in St. Paul, Minnesota, was Pro Football Hall of Fame Lineman and Coach Walt Kiesling. Kiesling played college football at the University of St. Thomas. Walt played 13 years as a guard and tackle in the NFL with the Duluth Eskimos (1926–1927), Pottsville Maroons (1928), Chicago Cardinals (1929–1933), Chicago Bears (1934), Green Bay Packers (1935–1936), and Pittsburgh Pirates (1937–1938). Kiesling also spent 25 years as a coach or aide for NFL teams, including seven years as head coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates/Steelers from 1939 to 1942 and 1954 to 1956. He provided Pittsburgh's first franchise winning season in 1942. He was posthumously inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1966 and was named to the NFL 1920s All-Decade Team in 1969.
